Cambodia Gambling Dens
Monday, 28. March 2016
There is an appealing background to the Cambodia gambling halls that lie just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, in which gambling den betting is banned. Eight gambling dens are anchored in a generally tiny location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia casinos is in a prime destination, a three to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai laborers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The amazing income gained from the gambling halls ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a number of restrictions constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; however, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are officially open from 09:00 to 17:00, and despite the fact visas are apparently required to cross, there are methods and means around this, as is real of most border crossings.
The initial Cambodia gambling halls opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving just a single gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored barge casino, contains 150 slot machine games and 60 gaming tables. The Naga gambling den never closes with 42 tables of mini-punto banco, four tables of 21, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The initial gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon followed. There are 150 slots and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slot machine games and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and ninety six table games, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machines and 66 of the familiar gaming tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight casinos in Poipet, again a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an international vacation and hotel compound that features numerous conveniences accompanying the casino, which provides 10,000 square feet of 130 slot machine games and 88 table games.
