Being Taught From My Betting Blunders
Wednesday, 30. December 2009
First to clarify the reason I wrote this article. I have been wagering online or at a brick and mortar betting houses for many years. I have learned, the fixation can take a hold of you and you will not even notice it until you are bankrupt. Particularly if you are on a winning streak. I have gone through many thousands of dollars in only a tiny period of time and to this day on occasion, I will go a bit too far. It seems you are just having a blast until you start to track your defeats and the guilt sets in, and then you keep telling yourself "I can win it back" repeatedly. It never works. Then you feel queasy in your stomach and the more you attempt the quicker you are deprived.
When you notice that you are up, STAY on the UP! When you start to be beaten, do not tell yourself, "well perhaps just one more" and again and again, believe me, this plan RARELY ever operates. Say you are betting on slots, have a bankroll put aside before beginning your play. DO NOT exceed that limit, no matter how alluring. If you actually succeed, put that in a different pot. Don’t use your profits no matter what. As soon as you have played through your original set limit, bail out. Leave, regardless if it is on the internet or at a physical betting house, don’t stay around. Always keep in mind, there will be another day, a different time.
Always remember, wagering should be exciting not backbreaking, sickening work! If you aren’t having fun yourself, you do not belong there. If youcan’t afford the loss, don’t even begin.
