There is a captivating history to the Cambodia gambling halls that sit just across the dividing line from next door Thailand, where gambling den betting is not permitted. Eight casinos are situated in a relatively tiny area in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. The 1st casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly followed. There are 150 slot machines and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slots and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slots and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and 96 table games, including eighty seven baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 one armed bandits and sixty six of the common gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive vacation and hotel compound that features many conveniences on top of the gambling den, which offers ten thousand square feet of one hundred and thirty one armed bandits and 88 tables.
