Cambodia Gambling Dens
Saturday, 18. December 2021
There is an interesting history to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, in which gambling den gambling is banned. Eight casinos are established in a generally small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent location, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular wagering centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The phenomenal income gained from the gambling halls ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million, and there are a couple of limitations requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; however, financial sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 1700, and despite the fact visas are supposedly required to pass, there are means around this, as is true of many borders.
The 1st Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only 1 gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored ship casino, features 150 slots and 60 tables. The Naga gambling den is open 24 hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of 21, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The 1st gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. A total of 150 slot machine games and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The latest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slots and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slots and ninety six table games, including eighty seven baccarat banque (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and sixty six of the common tables, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, again in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an international resort and hotel building that features a number of comforts accompanying the gambling den, which contains 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slots and eighty eight gaming tables.
