Cambodia Gambling Dens
Thursday, 2. April 2026
There is an interesting story to the Cambodia casinos that lie just across the border from neighboring Thailand, where gambling den betting is not allowed. Eight gambling halls are anchored in a relatively small location in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This band of Cambodia casinos is in a perfect spot, a three to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular betting centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The astonishing capital acquired from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than 12.5 million, and there are a couple of limitations constraints for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mostly Thai; although, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and though visas are supposedly required to cross, there are means around this, as is true of many border crossings.
The initial Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving only one casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary bateau gambling hall, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machine games and sixty tables. The Naga gambling hall is open all hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of twenty-one, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and one each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slots and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machine games and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slots and 70 tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 one armed bandits and ninety six table games, including 87 baccarat (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and 66 of the normal tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slots and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around vacation and hotel complex that contains a number of comforts on top of the casino, which provides 10,000 sq.ft. of one hundred and thirty slots and 88 table games.
